Revolutionary joint forces attacked a military junta camp near Kyauktaga town in Bago Region in the early morning of March 25, resulting in 12 soldier casualties and the seizure of small arms and ammunition, according to an official from Special Commando Battalion – P29914. The battle took place at a military camp stationed with approximately 50 troops in Sint Oh La Ha village, beginning at 2:23 AM and lasting over 4 hours with exchanges of fire between both sides.
During the battle, 12 soldiers were killed and about 15 were injured. The resistance forces captured one G-3 rifle, small arms ammunition, and military equipment. The military junta responded with airstrikes and heavy artillery, forcing the revolutionary forces to withdraw. While the resistance forces managed to control approximately two-thirds of the camp, they could not complete the seizure due to air support that arrived at dawn. The attacking force consisted of Strategy 25, Regional Military Command (Bago), Operation Area 2, Battalion 3702, Spring Warrior Column, Special Commando Battalion, and KNLA Battalion 9 in a coordinated operation.
One resistance fighter was killed in action and several others were wounded during the battle. The official explained that because this was the closest camp to Kyauktaga town, the military responded with significant reinforcements and fought back intensely using ground forces, heavy artillery, and air support. Additional forces were reportedly deployed in the evening. The commanding officer urged civilians in surrounding villages to construct proper bomb shelters for their safety, noting that while some residents have been cooperative in taking precautions, others have been less attentive to security measures. This is particularly important as the military often responds to such attacks with airstrikes and artillery bombardment that can affect nearby civilian areas.
