A spokesperson from the 11 Brother Revolution Force has confirmed that 12 military council troops were killed during an attack on the terrorist military’s stationary camp and column in Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region. The incident occurred on July 8 when revolutionary forces, including the 11 Brother Revolution Force and local allied groups, launched an attack as the military column from the Ngazun Mya Gyi village base was raiding and burning civilian homes in Kun Lan village. During the battle, many military council troops were injured, and as they retreated in disarray, revolutionary forces and local civilians were able to extinguish the fires in time to save homes.
Although the military council suffered numerous casualties during the battle, the resistance forces were unable to seize weapons and ammunition due to air and naval support provided to the military. On July 12, when the military column was withdrawing from Ngazun Township with full ground, naval, and air force support, revolutionary forces launched an ambush at a strategic location, resulting in the death of 12 military council troops and numerous others injured. The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew without any casualties.
The military’s stationary camp at Ngazun Mya Gyi village had approximately 50 troops, with additional reinforcements arriving by boat along the Ayeyarwady River. According to a detailed explanation from an 11 Brother Revolution Force official, the military used herds of cattle as shields while advancing. The revolutionary allied forces, who were waiting in ambush positions in an orchard, engaged in close combat at approximately 100 meters. Although they witnessed military casualties during the battle, they were forced to withdraw without seizing weapons due to heavy naval artillery support from boats and air support. The resistance forces were unable to recover weapons and ammunition due to the intense supporting fire from both naval vessels and aircraft.
