
The Information and Intelligence Officer Shadow from the People’s Defense Force Battalion 3601 confirmed that 11 military council troops were killed during an attack on a military column of about 100 personnel that was conducting raids and burning villages in Paungkhaung and Pyingtaung Townships of Bago Region.
On June 3rd at 9:00 AM, revolutionary forces attacked the military council troops between Nyaungni Pin village and Matu Kwin village in Pyingtaung Township as they were conducting raids and burning operations in villages including Thaik Chaung, Kwun Aung Su, Eik Sauk, Myay Ni Kone, Thaphan Kine, Dala Mae, Ma Yo Kyun, and Pyan Chi Tat villages in Paungkhaung Township area. In the battle, 11 military council troops were killed and 8 were seriously injured.
During the engagement, revolutionary forces seized various weapons and military equipment from the military council troops including 2 60mm commando mortars, 2 MA1 rifles, 6 MA3 rifles, 2 hand grenades, 3 MA1 magazines, 5 MA3 magazines, 1 G3 magazine, 56 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 16 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 1 icon, 150 stimulant tablets, and various other military supplies. After the battle, at 3:10 PM, the military council conducted airstrikes using 2 fighter jets dropping 6 bombs and 2 armed helicopters dropping 4 bombs, but revolutionary forces suffered no casualties.
The operation was jointly carried out by various units under Strategy 21 of People’s Defense Force Military Operation Area 2, including Battalion 3601, Battalion 3602 Headquarters, Company 3, Company 4, Pyay District PDF, Shwetaung PDF, Paungkhaung PDF, and Battalion 3801’s Company 3 Nat Sit Thone Group and Company 6 Ayeyar Nyinaung Group.
