A military outpost at the Upper Kapaung Dam spillway in Htone Tine Township, Bago Region, was attacked by revolutionary forces, resulting in the death of 11 military council soldiers and the seizure of weapons, according to an official from the A.D.G Brothers resistance group who participated in the operation. The attack began at 5:30 AM on June 3rd, targeting the military council outpost stationed at the Upper Kapaung Dam spillway.
The battle lasted approximately two hours, during which resistance forces successfully captured the entire outpost. In the initial engagement, three military council soldiers were killed and four were wounded. The revolutionary forces seized multiple weapons including three G3 rifles, one MA-11 rifle, five hand grenades, one grenade launcher, and two bulletproof vests. Following the capture of the outpost, the resistance forces cleared the area by burning the military installation.
Subsequently, when a military council reinforcement column of approximately 60 troops arrived at the Upper Kapaung Dam spillway outpost, resistance forces who had prepared an ambush attacked them with mines, resulting in eight additional military council casualties. During the entire operation, two resistance fighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries. According to the resistance group official, while the outpost previously housed more than 15 military council troops, only seven were present at the time of the attack. The successful operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of local resistance forces in their fight against the military council’s presence in the region.
