
A fierce battle erupted between the military council forces and revolutionary forces in Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region, on the morning of July 1st. According to an official from Battalion 6, Division 2 of Myingyan District, the clash resulted in the death of 10 military council troops and left many others injured. The confrontation took place in the area between Ywa Tha village and Thikone-Teitaungkone village, beginning around 5 AM.
The battle lasted approximately two hours, during which the revolutionary forces successfully engaged the military council troops without suffering any casualties before making a tactical withdrawal. The operation was jointly carried out by Myingyan District Battalion 6 and TGYR Youth Guerrilla Counter Revolution – Ngazun. The intense firefight demonstrated the effectiveness of the revolutionary forces’ tactical operations, which resulted in significant casualties for the military council forces.
According to local residents, the clash occurred as revolutionary forces were defending civilians from the military council’s ongoing oppression, looting, and arbitrary arrests in the region. Following the battle, the military council forces reportedly conducted indiscriminate artillery shelling of nearby villages, causing fear and concern among local residents. The incident highlights the continuing pattern of violence by military forces against civilian populations in the area, as revolutionary forces work to protect local communities from military council aggression. The successful operation by the revolutionary forces represents another blow to the military council’s attempts to maintain control over the region through force and intimidation.
