
The Information Officer of Battalion 5 in Salin District has confirmed that a total of 10 military council personnel were killed in mine attacks carried out by resistance forces on military convoys in Sinpaungwe Township, Magway Region, on July 29 and 31. On July 29, resistance forces ambushed military council troops who were conducting operations in the Bago Yoma area of Sinpaungwe Township, resulting in multiple casualties on the military side. Following the battle, around 3 PM, resistance forces targeted a military vehicle carrying dead soldiers with a mine attack between Dhanun Myaing Gate and Wase Myaing Gate, resulting in the deaths of 6 soldiers and damage to the vehicle.
Subsequently, on July 31, resistance forces conducted another mine attack on a police vehicle traveling from Kopin Police Station between Kopin and Thasi Gates in Sinpaungwe Township, killing 4 police personnel and destroying the vehicle. These coordinated attacks were jointly carried out by Battalion 5 of Salin District, Punnavati People’s Defense Force, Southern Magway People’s Defense Force, and Sinpaungwe People’s Defense Force.
According to local residents, the military council forces have been committing acts of violence and looting against civilians in the area, as well as forcing locals into unpaid labor. The resistance forces are monitoring and attacking military council movements with the aim of protecting the lives and property of local civilians. The attacks demonstrate the ongoing resistance against the military council’s oppressive actions in the region, with local defense forces working together to counter military operations and protect civilian populations.
