
A battle broke out between revolutionary forces and military council troops who were conducting operations in Malhaing Township, Mandalay Region, resulting in 10 military council casualties and the seizure of 5 bodies along with weapons and ammunition, according to an official from Battalion No. 2 in Meiktila District. On July 18th in the evening, military council troops stationed in Aung Thar village in Malhaing Township launched an operation with more than 120 personnel toward Myinthe village. The fighting began when revolutionary forces conducted an intercept attack against the advancing military column.
The battle continued for three hours, during which 10 military council troops were killed. The revolutionary forces had to temporarily withdraw when the military council deployed air support during the battle. However, when revolutionary forces later conducted a clearing operation of the area, they recovered 5 bodies of military council soldiers. Additionally, they seized two G-3 rifles, one MA-2 rifle, three G-3 ammunition magazines, over one hundred 5.56 rounds, and over one hundred G-3 rounds, as detailed by the battalion official.
Local residents in Malhaing Township are living in fear due to the military council’s operational movements, with some villagers having to flee to safer locations. Revolutionary forces have announced they will continue their efforts to defend against and resist the military council’s brutal actions against civilians.
