
A representative from the Chauk Township People’s Defense Force, Thakin Phoe Hla Gyi Battalion, has confirmed that 10 military council soldiers were killed during attacks on a military convoy and troops guarding the Thanaung power substation in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region. On July 10 at 11:15 AM, resistance forces conducted a mine attack on a military convoy consisting of four vehicles carrying approximately 50 military council troops led by Township Administrative Officer Sein Na Kyap, who were traveling on the Seikphyu-Thanaung road. The attack resulted in seven soldiers being killed instantly, while three others sustained severe injuries.
Regarding the attack, the official from the Thakin Phoe Hla Gyi Battalion explained that they targeted the military council forces who were en route to conduct a personnel rotation at the Thanaung power substation. The official revealed that Administrative Officer Sein Na Kyap personally leads forced labor recruitment operations in the town and surrounding villages. The resistance forces also issued warnings to civilians to maintain a safe distance from military council convoys and security operations for their safety.
Additionally, on the same day at 10:35 PM, resistance forces launched an attack using six 60mm mortar rounds on approximately 70 military council troops stationed at and patrolling around the Thanaung power substation in Salin Township. This attack resulted in three soldiers being killed and five others wounded, according to confirmed reports. The operation was jointly carried out by the Thakin Phoe Hla Gyi Force (Chauk) and Battalions 1 and 2 of the Pakokku District No. 4 Regiment. All members of the People’s Defense Forces successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties or injuries.
