
In Magway Region’s Pauk, Myaing and Seikphyu townships, the terrorist military council’s ground operations and daily aerial bombardments have resulted in the death of 10 civilians and forced thousands of residents from over 20 villages to flee to safety. On August 18 around 7 PM, the military council used Y-12 aircraft to drop at least 6 bombs on Pan Taw Kan village, Chauk Kan village and Tae Pin Kan village in Pauk township. The bombing killed one woman from Pan Taw Kan village and injured 4 other civilians.
Due to the military council’s airstrikes, thousands of residents have been forced to flee from villages including Kyu Taw, Kya O, Paygyi Thitpin, Khin Shae, Pan Taw Kan, Tae Pin Kan, Hman Htaung Kwin, Phoe Phyu Lone Kan, Thamardaw, Yanma Kone, Yay Pya and Phaya Taung villages. On August 19, the military council conducted more airstrikes using Y-12 aircraft on 7 villages including Sha La village and Kyun Taw village in Seikphyu township. These attacks killed 10 civilians and injured at least 11 others while also destroying many homes.
As the military council continues ground operations raiding villages in Seikphyu township, residents from Paing village, Wun Gyi village, Sha La village, Kyun Taw village, Ain Gyi village, Kyun Chaung village, Phalan Ma village, Kan Sone Ma village and Thone Lan Pyae village have been forced to flee for their safety. In Myaing township, the military council’s Infantry Division 101 based in Pakokku used two helicopters to bomb Htan Yin Kone village around 7 PM on August 18, injuring at least 5 civilians. According to a local resident, the situation is most severe in Pauk and Seikphyu areas where ground forces and Y-12 aircraft are conducting daily bombing raids.
