AYEYARWADDY DIVISION – The venerable monk U Sawbita, an abbot of Hmantan Village, Lay Myat Hnar Township was known to have provided 12 kilograms of rice to each family of the internally displaced people from the villages in Thandwe and Gwa Townships in Arakan (Rakhine) State, who are residing in temporary shelters in Laekhonegyi Village, Kwingyi Village Tract, Lay Myat Hnar Township, Hinthatda District, Ayeyarwaddy Division.
The internally displaced people have to stay in temporary huts on the sandy bank of the stream in Laekhonegyi Village, Kwingyi Village Tract and are in urgent need of assistance and donors.
There are about 60 internally displaced families, numbering about 150 people, who are facing difficulties in the basic needs of survival. Moreover, they also need medicines, warm clothes and blankets, according to the people who are assisting the internally displaced people.
