MAGWAY DIVISION- The NUG Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management announced on December 21 that Deputy Minister Dr. Ngait Tam Maung and his team visited the revolutionary-dominated areas in Magway this month.
The Deputy Minister and his team visited the areas controlled by NUG in Pakokku District and Gangaw District and met with the officials in charge of evacuation camps, district and township public administration forces, revolutionary forces, and civil society organizations in the area and reportedly discussed how humanitarian aid can be delivered more effectively to those in need.
During the trip, the activities of the ministry were explained to the public. The team also met the victims of war and gave them support and provided humanitarian aid. Those injured by the terrorist military council’s aerial attack, those who lost their limbs and body parts during the conflicts, and those whose homes were burned down were personally met and provided mental support as well as humanitarian aid. The deputy minister and his team observed the conditions of the implementation of the support provided by the Ministry for income generation, and physical and mental support to the victims and to identify the processes that can be continued.
Moreover, the team inspected the conditions of bomb pits in schools and visited the clinics and nursing schools in the townships to meet and greet the doctors and nurses, giving support and encouragement to the patients and trainees at the clinics.
The Ministry has also announced that the team also participated in Human Rights Day and anti-violence against women events with the locals.
