CHIN STATE – CDF Mindat issued a warning on August 11, cautioning the civilians against junta airstrikes as the junta air force has been targeting Mindat Township and was also seen flying frequently over the township.
CDF Mindat reiterated the warning to the people as the junta council has been conducting air and artillery attacks in Mindat Township despite the lack of battles in the region.
A resident of Mindat reported that a village in Mindat Prefecture 1 was targeted by airstrikes on August 11 noon after the warning by CDF Mindat.
It is said that school buildings and houses were damaged by the airstrike but the reports did not mention if there were any civilian casualties.
The junta council recently fired heavy artillery shells into eastern Mindat on August 3 evening, killing a 33 year old woman and heavily injuring a 5 year old child.
“Fighter jets have been making frequent flights over Mindat towards the west this morning (August 11),” reported a resident.
The junta council has been continuously bombarding Mindat Township with air and artillery attacks. According to CDF Mindat, there were 86 airstrikes targeting Mindat in the first six months of 2024 which resulted in a large number of civilian casualties.
