MAGWAY DIVISION – Chinland Defence Force (CDF) – Asho announced on January 5 that by blocking off the junta council forces that fled from the battles in Ann Township of Rakhine State, 11 more junta soldiers were captured in January.
After the Arakan Army (AA) completely captured Ann Township on December 20, the junta forces have been fleeing into neighbouring Magway Division and CDF Asho has been capturing them.
On January 3 and 4, a total of junta soldiers from the military camps at Sinkhontai Village and Taungzaut Village of Ann Township were captured and it is said that nine firearms, ammunition and military equipment were confiscated from the captured junta soldiers.
In addition, CDF Asho, in collaboration with Minbu District Battalion 8 and Ngaphe Township People’s Defence Organisation, attacked two military vehicles with around 50 junta forces on board heading from the junta Defense Industry 14 in Ngaphe Township along the Padan-Ngaphe-Saytottaya towards Saytottaya Township near Nyaungkai Village in Ngaphe Township on January 3 morning, killing one junta soldier and injuring six more.
CDF Asho also blocked off the junta forces fleeing from Ann Township during the last week of December and there were several that surrendered and 17 junta forces that fled were also captured.
The defence force announced on December 28 that over 30 firearms and ammunition were confiscated from those junta forces.
It is said that they blocked off two groups of junta soldiers numbering around 90 in total that fled from their battalions after the Arakan Army captured the junta Western Command in Ann, near the Pyinwa Checkpoint on the Ann-Padan Road.
