YANGON DIVISION – Local residents and an UG revolutionary news source confirmed that there was a bomb explosion near the house of singer and junta supporter Yone Lay in Sanchaung Township on December 30 morning.
It is said that two bombs exploded near the house of the junta supporting singer on Pyapon Street at 9:05 a.m. on December 30, and the loud explosion was heard by residents all over Sanchaung Township.
“It’s true that there was an explosion. There were two. The explosion was very loud. It was in Pyapon Street. I saw (junta forces) conducting inspections near Pyapon Street,” said a resident of Sanchaung.
A Yangon based UG revolutionary news source also confirmed that Yone Lay had returned to stay at his house and that the bomb explosion on December 30 was near his house.
“We don’t know which team was behind the attack. Yone Lay has returned to stay in Sanchaung for quite some time,” said the UG news source.
The junta council said that there was a bomb explosion in front of Panhlaing Family Clinic at No. 31, Pyapon Street, Kyunlal Ward at 9:10 a.m. and that two cars and two generators were damaged but no one was hurt.
Singer Yone Lay has mainly directed propaganda events and dramas for the junta council and is a junta lobby and supporter who had arranged for other artists who were released after being jailed for taking part in anti-military coup protests to sign guarantees under junta officials.
