MAGWAY DIVISION: An administrative officer of Nyaungpinkwin village, Kamma township, Thayet district, Magway division was shot dead, announced by Thayet District Battalion (4) on December 30.
The deceased person is the administrative officer of Nyaungpinkwin village Mr. Sein Win Maung, 56 years, and he was shot around 7:40 p.m. on December 27.
“He was shot once on the chest. When he was taken from home, he followed peacefully. He was taken out by sweet talk. He was shot outside of the village,” said by Mr. Myat, a spokesman of Thayet District Battalion (4).
The administrative officer Mr. Sein Win Maung was dead on the spot with the gunshot on chest. His dead body was taken to Kamma Hospital by the local civilians on the morning of December 28.
“Since the administrative officer was shot dead, the junta’s soldiers and policemen haven’t come to Nyaungpinkwin village to inspect the case,” continued by Mr. Myat.
The administrative officer Mr. Sein Win Maung always helped the junta’s soldiers to forcibly collect the boys for conscription. He also allowed the villages, which cannot give the people for conscription, to buy the people, giving him 10 million Kyats to replace the people. He shared the earned money with the members of Junta’s council. He also collected 100,000 kyats from each family of Nyaungpinkwin village per a month or two. For the above reasons, he was shot dead, as mentioned in the announcement.
The shot was reportedly performed by the members of squadron (2), Thayet District Battalion (4), Magway Division, No.(1) Military region of the People’s Defence Force.
On February (15) Myo Myint Aung, a leader Pyusawhtee (militia) in Kyaukme village, and Ngame village administrative officer Aye Zaw , Kamma township were also killed by the revolutionary forces on the same day.
