YANGON DIVISION – San Ngwe, the administration officer for Home Street Ward in Sanchaung Township and a former member of the junta police force, is hospitalised after getting fatally wounded in an attack on December 23 morning, according to residents.
He was reportedly shot at the ward administration office on Panhlaing Road when he was alone and was heavily injured after getting shot in the abdomen, and is currently said to be at the ICU of Yangon General Hospital. It is said that junta forces blocked off the area and conducted searches.
“It’s not clear yet if he survived the attack or not. He is reportedly at the ICU of the Yangon General Hospital,” shared a revolutionary news source.
According to a revolutionary news source in Sanchaung, San Ngwe became the ward administration officer after his predecessor Soe Thein ran away from his post. He had forcibly conscripted people, conducted census and voter registration to please the junta council and also extorted the residents. His wife, Khin Khin Shwe, is also known to oppress and bully the residents relying on her husband’s position.
