MYANMAR – Acting President Duwa Lashi La of the National Unity Government (NUG) officially presented the plans to form the Transitional National Unity Government (TNUG) after removing terrorist military dictator Min Aung Hlaing and the junta council during his speech welcoming the new year.
He said that the country will enter a transitional period after removing Min Aung Hlaing and the junta council, during which TNUG will be formed and discussions will be held with all stakeholders to build a Federal Union that guarantees true self determination.
“After drawing up the Federal Constitution, we will hold a democratic, fair and just election at the time of peace as desired by the people and the new government will be elected based on that election,” explained President Duwa Lashi La.
He continued that no resolution will be achieved by holding elections until a situation where peace and justice is present and also urged the international community to only support the election that will be held at a time of fairness after the Federal Constitution for self determination is established.
He added that the National Unity Government and revolutionary organisations ask for the military to remove itself from the politics and government in order to end the current political issues and conflicts in the country, and that they are always ready to join in the peace efforts at that time.
