TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The Revolutionary Forces reportedly attacked the terrorist junta forces stationed at Par Da Set Taw Yar Pagoda in Palaw Township, killing six junta soldiers, according to an official of Myeik District Battalion – 1.
On January 9, at 10:30 a.m., the allied Revolutionary Forces combated the terrorist junta forces stationed at Par Da Set Taw Yar Pagoda in Palaw Township, and six junta soldiers were killed and eight others were injured.
It was said that the junta army launched 23 airstrikes and dropped around 70 bombs from 2 Mi-2 helicopters and 2 K-8W fighter jet until around 6:00 p.m., and fierce resistance was maintained in order not to relinquish their base.
“The fight broke out from 10:30 a.m., to 6 p.m. We were unable to capture the camp. The junta bombed all day long by the air. Three houses and a restaurant in Set Tar Yar Village were burned down due to the airstrikes. The current military tension is on the Union Highway. Therefore, we would like to suggest travelers to confirm military news before traveling,” said the official.
The attack was carried out jointly by the Myeik District Battalion – 1 of People’s Defence Force, Battalion – 7 of Karen National Defence Organisation (KNDO). During the fight four comrades of Myeik District Battalion – 1 and three comrades of KNDO’s Battalion – 7 got minor injuries.
The Myeik District Battalion – 1 has been fighting the terrorist junta in unity with the Battalion – 7 of Karen National Defence Organisation (KNDO), and the military tension was still on the Union Highway No. 8, and drone attacks were occurring daily.
