MANDALAY DIVISION- The Sergeant and the Pyu Saw Htee who sent supplies and a car to the Mandalay Royal Palace, Central Military Headquarters, were reportedly captured alive by the resistance forces on their way back. But they resisted and ran away and were shot dead, said the officer of Nat Mauk PDF.
At noon on December 31, Sergeant Win Zaw Oo of the 121 Support Corps based in Magway (near expressway milepost 262 ) and Pyu member Myint Naing Win, a former military officer, were arrested by Nat Mauk Township PDF alliance forces along with identification documents.
“Sergeant Win Zaw Oo deserted the camp from the 926th Army Support Corps, in Ann Township, Rakhine State. He joined the 121 unit of Magway support just over a month. He drove a car to the Mandalay Palace with Pyu Saw Htee Myint Naing Win. We received tips and arrested them on their way back. They were unarmed at the time of arrest. They reportedly sent (drove back) the car in civilian clothes. We got them as they were returning in another car.” said the person in charge of Nat Mauk PDF.
After being detained, at around 12:30 p.m. on January 1st, they ran away while having lunch. They were chased and shot down. At around 8:00 p.m., both of them were reportedly shot and killed during the arrest.
It is said that the deceased Sergeant Win Zaw Oo was from the No. 926 Support Unit based in Ann Township, Rakhine State. He escaped when the Arakan Army occupied the Western Regional Military Headquarters (Napakha) and is now serving in the No. 121 Support Unit based in Magway.
It is reported that Myint Naing Win, who was arrested with him, also resigned from the army and is currently a Pyu Saw Htee member.
