MANDALAY DIVISION – Myanandar Operation reported that they attacked Pyu Saw Htee leader Thurein Tun and Hundred-household Chief Win Oo at a betel nuts shop on the 107th Street between 44th and 45th Streets in Aungtharyar Ward, Chanmyatharsi Township and the Hundred-household Chief was killed while the Pyu Saw Htee leader was injured.
The two junta servants were attacked around 11 a.m. on January 26 and the Hundred-household Chief was said to have died on the spot while the Pyu Saw Htee leader was only shot in the arm, according to the statement issued by Myanandar Operation.
A revolutionary news source reported that Thurein Tun, the Pyu Saw Htee leader, has borrowed a weapon from the junta council and committed robbery of multiple gold shops in Mandalay as well as many rapes, while Win Oo, the now dead Hundred-household Chief from Aungtharyar Ward had abducted and forcibly conscripted young people for the junta council.
On the other hand, the wife of Thurein Tun denied that her husband was a Pyu Saw Htee leader and claimed that Hundred-household Chief Win Oo arrived at the betel nuts shop and was attacked while her husband was there, that the former was shot in the neck and died while her husband was injured in the shoulder and has now recovered.
“It was around 10:30 a.m. yesterday (January 26). My husband was buying betel nuts. Hundred-household Chief Win Oo also arrived to buy betel nuts. Shortly after his arrival, Win Oo was shot. The bullet went through his neck. My husband, Thurein Tun, was hit in the shoulder. It is not true that he was a subordinate (of the Hundred-household Chief). He is not involved in politics,” said the wife of Thurein Tun.
