MANDALAY DIVISION – Junta forces shot and killed an adult man in the streets of Sa Ward, Pyigyitagun Township in the early morning of January 16, according to reports by the residents.
The incident took place at around 6 a.m. on 125th Street between 59th Street and 60th Street to the west of Sa Ward Market in Pyigyitagun Township.
“When we went outside to see after hearing gunshots, the boy was already dead with his stomach shot,” said a resident woman.
It is said that the perpetrators were in civilian clothes and that there were at least five of them. They reportedly attacked a motorcycle driver. The details of the victim are not yet known.
Several junta lobbyists on Telegram targeting Mandalay have been spreading that the victim was arrested for robbery but was shot dead after he resisted arrest.
Sa Ward where this incident took place is dominated by junta subordinate Pyu Saw Htee militia and it is said that the ward administration office is also a base of those Pyu Saw Htee militants.
