MANDALAY DIVISION- It is reported that a fire broke out on the afternoon of December 2, in the Mandalay Palace where the Military Council’s Central Military Headquarters is based.
The fire broke out around 3:00 p.m., and many fire trucks entered from entrances on the north side of the Moat, through 73rd and 12th street to put out the fire, confirmed an official of Mandalay Fire Department.
“It is a residential dormitory. Not every firefighters are not allowed to enter,” said a fire brigade member from Aung Myaytharzan Township.
The exact location of the fire in the Mandalay (Royal) Palace and the cause of the fire have yet to be independently confirmed.
There is no report of the fire from the Mandalay Palace on the Facebook page of the Myanmar Fire Brigade, which often reports fire news in real-time.
