SHAN STATE – An official from Nay Pyi Taw People’s Defence Force (PDF) reported that a PDF soldier and three junta defectors fell in a drone attack while bringing out seven forcibly conscripted junta soldiers defecting from the army in Pinlaung Township, southern Shan State.
It is said that the PDF were bringing out seven junta soldiers, including a squadron commander and a deputy squadron commander, who were forcibly conscripted by the terrorist junta council after they contacted Nay Pyi Taw PDF under the Ministry of Defence, National Unity Government, expressing their desire to enter the legal fold, on January 17 when the terrorist junta council attacked them with drones.
Due to the attack, Comrade Sin Gyi from the Regional Strike Force, Nay Pyi Taw PDF fell while Comrade Yakkha, the representative of Zeyathiri Township PDO and Comrade Thura, the representative of Lelway Township PDO were injured. In addition, three of the defectors were also killed.
Comrade Yakkha and Comrade Thura were given initial treatment to prevent blood loss by the medical officer and doctors from KNDF B-11, and it is said that Comrade Yakkha is already showing signs of recovery.
The fallen comrade was also buried in ceremony at the martyrs hill on January 19 and Nay Pyi Taw PDF expressed their sincere appreciation to ERO leaders and leaders and comrades from allied organisations who helped out and attended the final journey of the fallen comrade.
