KACHIN STATE – According to a KIA news source, KIA (Kachin Independence Army) has captured the junta council’s Armour battalion in Bamaw town, Kachin state and managed to confiscate four armoured vehicles.
Starting from 6 a.m. on January 24, the revolutionary alliance forces under the lead of KIA conducted fierce offensive attacks towards the junta council’s remaining battalions and headquarters in Bamaw town. And the battles are intensified in the town. In the afternoon, the revolutionary alliance forces managed to capture the Armour battalion.
A KIA news source mentioned that “we managed to capture the Bamaw Armour battalion. We can confiscate four armoured vehicles.”
It has been reported that the battles intensified in the Operation Command Headquarters 21 and the junta council defended the attacks by using airstrikes, heavy weapon reinforcements and drones.
The revolutionary alliance forces are conducting offensive attacks to completely capture Bamaw township. The junta council’s operation command headquarters 21, Bamaw Infantry Battalion 47, 236, 237 and the infantry battalion 366 are left to be captured.
Starting from December 4, 2024, the revolutionary alliance forces under the lead of KIA started launching offensive attacks to capture Mansi township and Bamaw township. On January 8, the revolutionary alliance forces managed to completely capture Mansi township. Bamaw township cannot be completely captured yet and the revolutionary forces are still conducting offensive attacks towards Bamaw township.
