KAREN STATE – The junta army’s temporary military camp of Aung Zaya military column at Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Road was being attacked by People’s Defence Force. 28 junta soldiers were killed and more than 45 others were wounded as well as the weapons and ammunition were seized, the Southern Military Command announced on Sunday (January 18).
It was mentioned in the statement that Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), People’s Defence Force of Southern Military Command, and other revolutionary forces jointly captured the junta army’s military camp.
11 small arms, 1 heavy weapon, mines, various types of ammunition and other military equipment were reportedly seized.
The military council, which is having lower hand on the ground, is increasingly carrying out air strikes and shelling heavy weapons on civilian targets, the Southern Military Command stated.
