CHIN STATE- Chief of Staff (Mr.) Daungpu of CDF-CDM (Siyin), based in Tedim Town, told the media that they were able to purchase 10 weapons with donations from passersby drivers.
In 2024, after the Chin Revolutionary Forces occupied the Thaining Camp in Tedim Towns, tourists and motorists who use the road made a generous donation.
“In the past, before the military camp was occupied by resistance forces, junta troops collected four to five lakhs from each car driver passing through the gate. After we occupied the area and the camp, drivers donated as much as they were willing to (as the toll-gate fees). From those donations, we were able to buy weapons within a year,” the Chief of Staff of CDF-CDM (Siyin) told the media.
Therefore, CDF-CDM (Siyin) announced today (January 14) that they are grateful to those who contributed money willingly.
“The cost of a (rifle) gun reaching the headquarters is about 20 million kyats,” said (Mr.) Daungpu.
Thaining Village is located at the intersection of Kalay-Tedim Road and Tedim-Falam Road. The military troops stationed at Thaining village since January 2022 and the camp was reportedly occupied by the Chin revolutionary forces on January 16, 2024.
