SAGAING DIVISION – According to the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the People’s Defence Force (PDF) news sources, the fascist junta council conducted aerial bombardments over Maw Luu Town, without ongoing battles, in Indaw Township, Sagaing Division. Due to the junta council’s aerial bombardments, three civilians including a woman were reportedly killed and the buildings and many residential houses were damaged.
At around 11:45 p.m. on January 16, the inhumane junta council continuously dropped bombs, including 500-pound bombs, using fighter jets, over Maw Luu Town. Due to the attacks, a departmental office and many residential houses were damaged. Moreover, three civilians were also killed.
A KIA news source posted on social media, “As the junta council conducted aerial bombardments at around 11:45 p.m. on January 16, a vendor woman and two pedestrians were killed. They dropped four bombs using fighter jets. An express bus was parked for the night near the place where the drones landed. Three civilians were killed. Among them, one is a local and two are travellers.”
A PDF news source also mentioned that the place where the junta council conducted aerial bombardments is very close to the residential wards and that the bombs used were high-explosive 500-pound bombs.
