YANGON DIVISION – Residents reported that Aye Kyaing, the administration officer of Ward No. 15 in Hlaingthayar Township appointed by the terrorist junta council, is pressuring the people to join the Pyaemanai Foundation formed by the junta council’s Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP).
Starting January, Administration Officer Aye Kyaing and Hundred-household Chief Aye Thein have been pressuring the residents to join Pyaemanai Foundation.
Although the civilians are unsatisfied, the administration officer and the hundred-household chief reportedly visited the homes of those who didn’t submit the forms, scolded them, forced them to fill the forms and took photographs.
“The administration officer for Ward No. 15 in Hlaingthayar Township distributed the application forms to join the USDP, forced us to fill them and also demanded three ID photos. If we don’t submit the forms, the administration officer and the hundred-household chief would come to our house and force us to fill the form. They also cursed at us,” said a resident.
Some civilians shared that the junta council might be planning to commit election fraud by forcing people to join the Pyaemanai Foundation by the USDP.
