TANINTHARYI DIVISION – During the fighting in Kyauknimaw region, Longlon township, Tanintharyi division, many houses in Kyauknimaw village were burnt to ashes due to arson by the terrorist army, according to a local revolution forces.
It is reported that many houses in the village were burnt to ashes during the Battle of Kyauknimaw region, in Longlon township which fought from December 23rd to 27th, because of aerial bombardment, heavy weapon firing by the navy and arson by the terrorist military council soldiers.
The people of the village are still fleeing and the people have not been able to return to the village. The number of homes touched and destroyed by the terrorist army during the battle has not yet been confirmed, but it is estimated that more than 20 homes may have been burnt to ashes.
“During the battle, the war dogs set fire and fled to the other side. Also, the war dogs dropped bombs with airplanes, the navy fired heavy weapons, and many houses burned down. The fire spread from one building to another because the houses are very close and all of them burned down. We haven’t ventured into the village yet, so we can’t confirm the exact number of houses. I think the number of homes will be more than 20,” said a local revolutionary news source.
During the battle in Kyauknimaw region, more than 40 soldiers of the junta council, including the battalion commander of the 405th Light Infantry Battalion, were killed, many were injured and some weapons and ammunition were seized.
