MYANMAR – Local residents said that at least 50 young men were abducted and forcibly conscripted by the junta council’s army in Oke Shit Pin and Thone Se of Bago Division and Myaungmya of Ayeyarwaddy Division.
On January 7, the terrorist army raided the villages near the town of Oke Shit Pin and abducted the youths to send to the army. At least 48 youths were reportedly taken.
Terrorist junta council soldiers raided Kyauk Phu, Hsay Taw, Yin, Kywe Yae, Talote Pin and Nyaung Chay Htauk Villages near Oke Shit Pin and many young people were abducted.
“We know that the junta dogs (junta forces) suddenly entered the village and abducted them. The details of the incident are not yet known. Many young people were taken,” said a local resident.
Similarly, on January 5, Mr. Aung Ko and two unknown youths from Bo Me Za Village near Thone Se were abducted and forcibly conscripted at the Than Phyu checkpoint of the terrorist army while they were going to the Yoma range to cut bamboo with bullock carts.
On January 6, the terrorist army informed the family members of the abducted youths and asked them to ransom them with 7,000,000 kyats. Mr. Aung Ko and one unidentified youth were released but the other remaining young man is not released as his family members cannot afford the money.
“The junta dogs seized all the carts and cattle, and the family members were asked to redeem each of them for 7,000,000. One of them has not been released yet because his family could not afford the money. The people know that it is dangerous, but our livelihood is very difficult, so we have to work and eat at the risk of death,” said a local resident.
In Myaungmya Township in Ayeyarwaddy Division, two young men from Yaytwin Yaykan Village were also abducted by the terrorist army on January 5 and their family members still cannot reach them.
In addition, according to the local people, the administration officer of Kyauk Yay Dwin Ward in North Okkalapa Township, Yangon who is a member of the USDP Party, is collecting the names of the youths saying that the terrorist army asked for the name list.
It is said that the residents are anxious as the terrorist army appointed administration officer, who is a member of USDP said that he has to send the name lists of 50 youths to the terrorist army daily.
A local resident said that “The administration officer of Kyauk Yay Dwin Ward is collecting the list of young people living in the neighborhood, saying that they have to give a list of 50 young people to the junta dogs daily. They are also distributing forms to every house. The people are afraid.”
