SAGAING DIVISION – U Ngwe Thein, the person in charge of the People’s Administrative Body of Tin Ngote Kyi village, Kanbalu township, Sagaing Division, was shot dead and is being investigated by the Township People’s Police of the National Unity Government (NUG).
A defense soldier said “On the morning of December 6th, around 5:50 a.m., while U Ngwe Thein, who is in charge of Tin Ngote Kyi village, was at his home, two men wearing green guerrilla uniforms fired 3 shots.”
“They asked the house as they were pretending on the wrong road while going to another village and then shot,” the soldier added.
Residents said that the deceased U Ngwe Thein was about 40 years old and the murder case is being investigated by People Police Force of Kanbalu.
There were some assassination cases of the responsible persons at township and ward/village level in National Unity Government-controlled areas within the Sagaing Division.
U Are in Dama, the secretary of Natural Resources of People Administration Body of Kawlin was assassinated by gun on January 2nd.
U Win Htay, the person in charge of the township’s education board and his family including his daughter, who was only 3 months old were assassinated in their home. It cannot catch the accusers in the two above-mentioned cases.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation announced on 6th January that the accusers of the cases must be revealed and will force majeure to protect all employees serving under the respective sectors of the National Unity Government’s governmental mechanism.
