MANDALAY DIVISION – Natogyi People’s Defence Force (PDF), Myingyan District Battalion 4-10 announced on December 5 that at least 25 junta forces were killed and one was captured alive during the battles in Natogyi Township between December 25 and January 2.
On December 25, 2024, four junta troops from Wetloo Police Station in Natogyi Township that came out to shop were killed in an attack after they resisted arrest.
Then on December 27 and 28, Wetloo Police Station was bombed using drones and attacked with mortars, resulting in the death of nine junta soldiers.
Although it wasn’t made public, the junta council was reported to have carried out an airstrike when the revolutionary forces were attacking the police station.
There was also a battle on December 28 evening against the junta forces invading Paechat Village and a fierce battle at Myatshu Village on December 31 reportedly killed at least ten from the junta army.
A revolutionary soldier commented that the dead bodies of junta soldiers in Myatshu Village were not collected and the PDF soldiers had to burn them.
Then on January 2, 2025, revolutionary forces attacked the junta forces stationed at the monastery in Thonehtaung Village, killing two junta forces and capturing one with much ammunition.
Natogyi PDF had also carried out inspections on the Yangon-Mandalay Highway at the 318th-mile post on December 23, 2024.
