From 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. on January 3, around 80 terrorist junta forces that invaded Kyitaungoo Village and Antsaryar Village in Minkin Township in two groups were attacked by the members of UCRRF and the Students’ Revolution Front (SRF).
In the battle, UCRRF soldiers captured five Pyu Saw Htee militants but two managed to escape while a hand grenade and a mobile phone belonging to junta forces were confiscated.
In addition, the terrorist junta forces were reported to have killed six civilians from Tumaya Village and abducted a 14 year old girl and an unidentified civilian from Maohgai Village.
“We don’t know the exact casualties of the junta dogs (junta forces) yet. The junta dogs and Pyu Saw Htee thugs murdered six civilians from Tumaya Village. The junta dogs also abducted two civilian and torched the rice fields. The civilians abducted by junta forces are from Maohgai Village. They reportedly accused a 14 year old girl of dating a PDF soldier and abducted her. We don’t know who the other victim is yet, but it is probably a boy. Currently, the junta dogs are stationed at Kyitaungoo Village. Our weapons are still not returned by Deputy Officer Zaw Min of Minkin Township from when members of our UCRFF were detained, so we have difficulties with weapons. We haven’t received any support from the township officials either. We are carrying out our own battles, raising our own funds. In yesterday’s battle, a solider has his foot cut from the ankle. The captured prisoners of war were taken by the SRF. We don’t know how they will prosecute them,” said Information Officer Eagle from UCRRF.
It is said that four revolutionary soldiers were injured by junta landmines during the battle and one of them lost a leg, cut from the ankle.
