MON STATE – 16 soldiers of the junta council from Lagoon Pyo Military Base in Bilin Township, Mon State were known to have entered the legal fold, bringing 15 different weapons, announced the southern military region.
On the morning of January 7, 16 junta soldiers from Lagoon Pyo Military Base reportedly entered the legal fold after contacting the revolutionary coalition forces. The comrades from the Military Sub Region 2 in Southern Military Command, the People’s Defence Force, were known to have welcomed them.
The 16 soldiers also brought a 80 mm mortar, a 60 mm mortar, a 50 mm mortar, a machine gun, a sniper rifle, seven MA-1 guns, one MA-2 gun, one MA-3 gun and one MA- 4 gun along with them.
The Southern Military Region urged the rest of the junta soldiers to cooperate with the People’s Defence Force and oppose the military dictator instead of committing atrocities against the civilians.
