KAREN STATE – People’s Defence Force (PDF) at the Southern Military Region announced on January 4 that there had been 14 clashes within a week, from December 28 to January 3, between the revolutionary forces and the fascist council’s army,
During the battles, 73 terrorist soldiers were killed and more than 75 were wounded.
Battles have been breaking out almost everyday between the terrorist council’s Aung Zeya Military column, which came reinforced to regain control over the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Road, and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion 28 led by PDF Strategy 32, Bo Ta Baw. The terrorist army is reportedly on the losing end.
In addition, it was highlighted in the statement that the junta army’s reinforcement Thandwe column trying to re-enter Anankwin Base was also intercepted and had their ration and reinforcements routes cut off by the forces of the PDF, Southern region Special Operation Force (SOF), Nagarni Military column, battalions of KNLA, Yaung Ni Drone Special Task Force and Dawna Dragon Cloud wings.
The junta army reportrdly intensely conducted artillery and airstrikes as their troops are facing many casualities in the intercepted battles.
Three Comrades of revolutionary allied forces also fell in honor and 15 others were injured in the battles.
