MYANMAR – The Burmese Rohingya Organisation UK (BROUK) stated that they submitted to the Argentina Court to issue international warrants for junta chief Min Aung Hlaing and six other military and civil officers responsible for the crime of genocide against the Rohingya people in Rakhine State.
“This is a historic first step in making the criminals accountable for the decade long genocide against the Rohingya people. This is a sign that our efforts to battle for justice are bearing fruits,” said BROUK Chair Tun Khin.
The application to hear the case for the genocide of Rohingya people was submitted to the Argentina Court in 2021. The terrorist junta military, led by Min Aung Hlaing, committed genocide against the Rohingya in 2017 and displaced millions of them, expelling them into Bangladesh.
The individuals requested to have international warrants issued for them at the Argentina Court are:
- Min Aung Hlaing (Senior General)
- Soe Win (Vice Senior General)
- Aung Kyaw Zaw (No. 3 Special Operations Team)
- Mg Mg Soe (Western Command Commander)
- Aung Aung (Division Commander of Infantry Division 33)
- Kyaw Chay (Police Officer)
- Aung San Mya (Village Administration Officer).
Currently, the terrorist junta council is also defending against Gambia at the ICJ for the genocide of Rohingya.
